PuzzleParty LLC ("PuzzleParty," "we," "us," or "our") operates the PuzzleParty mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use PuzzleParty.

Our philosophy is simple: we collect only the minimum amount of information necessary to operate the service, we do not sell or share personal data for advertising or marketing, and the App is private by default.

  • Preference settings (e.g., colors, notifications)

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device type and operating system
  • App version
  • IP address (server logs)
  • Anonymous identifiers (tokens, UUIDs)
  • Push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens used to deliver notifications to your device)
  • Crash logs and diagnostics
  • Basic analytics and usage data

We do not collect precise location data.


2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Operate and maintain the App
  • Display scoreboards and party activity
  • Enable private group interaction
  • Deliver push notifications you have enabled
  • Improve reliability and performance
  • Maintain security and prevent abuse
  • Communicate service-related messages

We do not use data for advertising or cross-app tracking.


3. Messaging, Posts, and Visibility

  • PuzzleParty has no public feed.
  • All gameplay activity, messages, text, and images are visible only to members of the relevant party.
  • Content is never publicly discoverable.
  • We do not routinely scan messages. If content is reported or required to investigate abuse, we may review relevant material.

Messages and images are stored while an account is active. Automatic deletion policies may be introduced in the future.

  • Access to device SMS inboxes
  • Contact lists
  • Precise location data

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising or marketing.

We use service providers for essential operations, including:

  • Cloud hosting and databases (Laravel Cloud)
  • Push notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging)
  • Analytics and diagnostics (Laravel Cloud and similar services)
  • Image delivery and content distribution (Cloudflare via hosting providers)

Providers receive only the minimum data required to perform their services.


6. External Links

The App may contain links to external websites or services (such as puzzle game websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.


7. Legal Requests

We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests. When legally permitted, we will notify affected users.


8. Data Retention

  • Data is retained while your account is active.
  • Upon account deletion request, personal data is deleted from live systems within 30 days.
  • Backup data is purged within 90 days of deletion.
  • Some anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

For California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to:

  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (note: we do not sell personal information)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have additional rights including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

10. Children's Privacy

PuzzleParty is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children under these ages.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable age limit, we will take steps to delete that information and terminate the associated account as quickly as possible.

11. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission
  • Secure token-based authentication
  • Access controls limiting employee access to user data

No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your information.


12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
